Day 11 - Busy Lives

Ouch! When I read the title of today's reading it struck me to my core...busy lives. I have been know to live life at the speed of sound. I once had a friend stop me after church and ask me where was I always running off to. I had to stop and think about that.

Why was I always running? In all of my busyness, I realized how much time I actually wasted.
Instead of culling images from my latest photoshoot! I would be watching the latest episode of Grey's Anatomy. In my multi-tasking, I can become easily distracted. I sit down to design an album, go get a cup of coffee and the next thing I know, I have done the dishes, put them away and I am putting in a load of laundry. It may be hours before I get back to the album. I have the nerve to wonder why it takes me so long to design albums!

Perhaps, a better idea would be to put on some upbeat praise and worship music and do image culling and album design. That is a great idea, why didn't I think of it sooner? I am sure you have heard the term "garbage in, garbage out". This applies not only to databases, but to our minds also. If I fill my mind with Grey's Anatomy instead of God's Word, I am filling my mind with worthless garbage. At the end of the day, I listen to the Bible via the YouVersion Bible app on my iPhone. I have access to His Word 24/7. I have no excuse.

Lord, bring me back to my first love. Help me to not waste so much time on things that mean nothing in eternity. This does not mean I can't enjoy an occasional television program, but it does mean I should not allow my life to revolve around what programs come on Thursday (or any other) night.

God is not constrained by time like we are, so I can go to Him any time. I pray in my car, on my job, and even in the bathroom. How much do you enjoy when you get an unexpected call from someone you care deeply about? How much more does Your Heavenly Father love to hear from you. Just take a moment right now to tell Him how much you love Him. Can you feel Him smile and tell you He loves you too? Thank you, Lord for your great love for me. Forgive me for not spending as much time with you as I should.

As I write this blog, I am riding down I-95 in Virginia...I am not driving (LOL). Ain't technology grand? I am going to plug in my earphones and listen to God's Word while I admire His handiwork.

I love you, Lord
Pamela
